Fenna Kosfeld is an artist and material designer exploring the narrative potential of materials to shift cultural perceptions and ecological awareness. With a background in Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Arts (UAL) and a Master’s in Material Design from Elisava, her work bridges hands-on making with experimental material research to question values and reshape our intrinsic relationship with matter—both living and nonliving.

Her practice emphasises the interplay of light and material as both medium and metaphor, revealing ecological interconnections and the complexities of natural phenomena. Through light objects, installations, photography, and landscape projects, she fosters a sensorial dialogue between perception, materiality, and environment.

Alongside her artistic practice, Fenna’s material research focuses on experimental processes that reimagine waste and organic composites. She seeks to contribute to a regenerative future through material innovation, awareness, and circular design strategies that challenge conventional hierarchies of matter.

Based in Barcelona, Spain, Fenna is establishing a studio dedicated to material research, unlearning, and innovation while creating bespoke art pieces that evoke wonder and expand our understanding of life and material entanglements.
